At 2024 on Thursday evening, Olean Firefighters received an alarm of fire for a working structure fire at 430 York Street in the Seneca Heights portion of Olean. Firefighters arrived within three mins of dispatch to find heavy smoke and fire in a 2 1/2 story residence. All occupants had evacuated prior to FD arrival. 2 - 1 3/4" hand lines were stretched. Firefighters had to force the door open the front door to gain entry. Firefighters encountered heavy fire in the living room area. A third alarm assignment was struck bringing in off-duty Olean Firefighters. Trans Am ambulance treated and transported one patient to OGH ER. Fire was contained to the east side of the structure with heavy smoke and heat damage throughout the house. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the City of Olean Fire Investigation Team.
