At approximately 2130 hours, the City of Salamanca Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire with possible entrapment. Salamanca Engine 1 arrived on scene reporting a working fire. Immediate recall of off duty firefighters and mutual aid was requested from Kill Buck and Seneca Nation.
Crews rescued an unconscious elderly lady from a second story window using ground ladders. The fire was confined to the apartment of origin. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
