Commercial buildingfire 128 Peabody St, West Haven, CT - A second alarm fire ripped through a commercial building in the city's Allingtown section. Firefighters arrived to find an advanced fire in this one story, commercial building. Big lines were operated immediately as truck companies forced entry through conventional and overhead doors. A heavy smoke and fire condition soon vented from the building housing multiple delivery trucks and a frozen food distribution operation. Companies operating on scene were hampered by a lack of hydrants in the area, resulting in hose lays over twelve hundred feet. A second alarm was transmitted bringing additional companies to the scene. Multiple two and a half hand lines, stingers and two ladder pipes were used to darken down the blaze. The cause of the fire is unknown and being investigated. No one was injured in the blaze.
