05/03/19 West Haven, CT - An American Medical Response ambulance passing by on I-95 saw smoke and fire coming from a commercial building. The building contained an auto repair shop and a car wash. Heavy fire was venting from the overhead door upon arrival of companies. Engine Company 21 dumped their monitor in an attempt to quickly darken down the heavy volume of fire. This effort had no affect on the heavy volume of fire contained within the building. Additional alarms were transmitted bringing all city of West Haven resources to the scene. Three ladder pipes, two multi versals and multiple hand lines worked for two hours to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the marshals.
