12/17/20 Milford , CT - Milford Fire Department responded a full assignment to the Old Gate Lane truck stop for a reported tractor trailer fire. Companies arrived to find a fully involved tractor trailer with an exposure to two additional trucks. Companies were hampered by a recent snowfall, freezing temperatures and bad hydrants. Multiple hand lines were stretched and operated with foam to knock down the heavy volume of fire. The original trailer was carrying fresh produce. The health department and State of CT DEEP were also called to assist. Witnesses on the scene said the fire started in the refer unit and rapidly spread.
