When this fire was dispatched the NBFD was already battling another 2nd alarm fire on Clinton St. Due to the other 2nd alarm in the city there was mutual aide from Hartford, West Hartford, Middletown, and Bristol. When crews arrived on scene on Washington St they had heavy smoke showing and soon after they called the second alarm at this fire. Fire was brought under control about an hour and a half in.
