View my photos at: https://johndeforest.smugmug.com/Southwick-2nd-alarm-fire Southwick firefighters were called this morning (12-9-20) just before 3am to 47 College Highway for a report of a chimney fire. Southwick police were 1st arrive to find a large 1 story wood framed home well involved with fire through the roof. A 2nd alarm was sounded requesting Suffield Ct, Granby Ct to the scene, Granville Mass fire to cover southwick’s station. Crews went to work defensive as the fire was through the roof. East Granby Ct was called for manpower. Crews would battle for the next 2.5 hours before bringing the stubborn fire under control. All occupants made it out safely and no firefighter injuries. The Department of Fire Service was called in with the state rehab truck due to extremely cold temperatures. Southwick police and Southwick DPW assisted as well at the scene. The fire is under investigation by the State fire marshal office. The home is a total loss. https://johndeforest.smugmug.com
