Fatal House Fire - 13 Bugbee Rd, Southwick, MA - 9/29/18
Southwick Mass firefighters were dispatched to the area of 13 bugbee road on sept 29th just before -06:30am. Dispatch were receiving multiple 911 calls and Car 1 reported he had a large column of black smoke visible from route 202. Upon arrival of Car 1 and Ladder 1 they found what was believed a 2.5 wood framed home fully involved with major structure collapse. Command requested mutal aid from Westfield Ma, Granville Ma,Suffield Ct and Granby Ct. Command was advised that 2 people were still in the home. Command also reported that they had dead hydrants and had to relay back to 202 and use the hydrant. It took firefighters over 2 hours to bring the blaze under control. Mass state fire marshal office, state police and southwick police were also on scene. It was later on the 29th that 2 adults were confirmed killed in the blaze. The fire still remains under investigation.
