Springfield firefighters took multiple calls for the fire at a 1 story commercials gas station on Boston road. 1st due was Engine 16 and they arrived to the gas station building fully involved. Arriving District Chief Mike Hess ordered an additional engine and all crews to go defensive. It took crews about 45 mins to bring the fire under control. The gas pumps were not effected by the fire. The fire started outside the structure in the rear of the building
