Peabody firefighters battled a fast moving 3 alarm fire at 168 Washington St on Christmas night December 25th, 2016. The fire originated on the first floor in a commercial salon and extended upward thruout 3.5 story's of apartments above the salon. Crews tried to make an interior attack but the fire was too far ahead of them prompting companies to back out of the building and into a defensive posture on the fire.
