7 Alarm Structure Fire - 52 Sanborn St, Reading, MA - 6/1/17
Reading firefighters, on Captain Phil Boisvert's last day of a 34 year career with RFD, fought a fast moving 6+ alarm fire alongside multiple area departments from as far away as Boston.
The fire originated in an apartment on the top floor of a large 4 story brick building that served as Reading High School decades ago. Heavy fire was able to advance rapidly thru the high loft ceilings and into interconnected void spaces between apartments and the roof. It took several hours for over 100 firefighters to knock the fire down and Reading personnel remained on scene all night and well into the next day.
Here's a sample of my photos from that fire. The rest of the full gallery can be viewed on my website at http://www.kdwfirephotos.com/ReadingFireDepartment/2017-Fires-and-Incidents/Reading-MA-6-Alarm-52-Sanborn-St-6117/
