Structure Fire - 1931 Portland Cobalt Rd, Portland, CT - 6/25/17
Portland firefighters were toned out to an outside fire in close proximity to a structure in the early afternoon hours of Sunday, June 25th 2017. The incident location was the grounds of the Saint Clement's Castle, a reception/function venue located at 1931 Portland Cobalt Rd.
Firefighters arrived to find a structure fire, presumably started in or around the rear and the OIC ordered a working fire. Several communities responded with mutual aid to assist in what turned out to be a defensive attack on the 1.5 story structure. There was a reception ongoing in the building at the time of the fire and all guests safely evacuated.
