At 11:38 pm on January 3rd, the Rochester Fire Department was dispatched for the reported smoke in the 10th-floor hallway in one of the high-rise apartments at the Winton Garden Towers on East Main Street. Arriving companies located a fire in the bedroom of an apartment on the 10th floor, and a 2nd alarm was ordered due to the size of the building. The fire was quickly knocked down, and one person was rescued from the fire apartment, who unfortunately would ultimately succumb to their injuries.
