On 01/02/22 at 00:50 Hartford Fire was dispatched to a reported building fire in the area of Albany Avenue and Green Street. Dispatch advised they were taking calls on a vacant building in the area. First arriving Engine 2 called off a 1 story vacant commercial with heavy smoke showing. Companies were faced with a deep seated fire throughout the building with multiple access challenges requiring prolonged forced entry. Firefighters initially had a good handle on the fire, but due to the volume of hidden fire, companies were forced into a defensive position. First alarm companies worked for over 4 hours before the fire was put under control and held to one alarm.
