Haddam Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a chimney fire without extension on Morris Hubbard Road at 9 a.m. Nov. 14, 2015. They used a thermal imaging camera to determine any “hot spots” inside the home. Outside, firefighters used chimney chains to knock down burning creosote in the chimney. Haddam Fire members recommended the homeowners get their chimney cleaned and inspected. (Photo by Olivia Drake)
It’s been a busy year for Haddam Fire! In 2015, our volunteers responded to 446 calls. Of those, 237 were medical; 120 were fire-related; 59 were motor vehicle accidents, and two were marine-related. (The other 28 were “others.”) Since 1930, HVFCo. has proudly served the Haddam community. Please thank your local volunteer firefighters for their service!
