2nd Alarm - 1430 Fairfield Ave Bridgeport, CT - 8/8/2022
On Monday, August 8, 2022, around 9:10 pm, the Bridgeport ECC received a report of a structure fire in the 1400 block of Fairfield Ave. This "Charlie-7" assignment consisted of Engine 3, Engine 4, Engine 7, Engine 1 as RIT, Ladder 5, Ladder 11, Rescue 5, Safety Officer 1, Battalion 1, and Battalion 2. On arrival, Engine 4 reported fire showing from the 3rd floor of a 3-story brick apartment complex. Companies quickly made entry and started making their way to the fire while Ladder 11 went to the roof. Battalion 1 transmitted a 2nd alarm around 9:30 pm, bringing Engine 6, Engine 12, and Ladder 6 to the scene. Companies were soon able to access the fire apartment and quickly knocked down the fire. Throughout the next hour, companies performed extensive overhaul and chased pockets of fire in the cockloft of the structure. The fire was declared under control around 10:50 pm. The Red Cross is assisting approximately 30 people that have been displaced by this fire. There were no injuries to report. The Bridgeport Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of this fire.
