2nd Alarm - 188 Palisade Ave Bridgeport, CT - 6/2/2022
On Thursday, June 2nd, 2022 around 12:00 noon, the Bridgeport ECC took multiple calls reporting a structure fire in the area of Palisade Ave & Birdseye St. This "John-3" assignment consisted of Engine 10, Engine 6, Engine 15, Engine 1 as RIT, Ladder 6, Ladder 10, Rescue 5, Safety Officer 1, Battalion 1, and Battalion 2. Ladder 10, on hydrant detail in the area, reported heavy smoke in the area. Ladder 6 arrived on scene and reported a 3 story wood frame condo with smoke showing from the B-side of the building. Dispatch reported to responding companies that they were receiving reports of people trapped inside. Battalion 2 arrived on scene and gave a 2nd Alarm of Fire due to reports of people trapped. The 2nd Alarm brought Engine 12, Engine 4, and Ladder 5 to the scene. Cars 1, and 3, as well as Training 2, Training 3, and Admin-1 responded to the scene. Companies quickly located the fire and searched for any trapped occupants. The fire was quickly knocked down and all occupants were soon accounted for. Crews remained on scene for several hours for extensive overhaul and cleanup. Luckily, the fire was contained to 1 apartment and part of the exterior of the building. Several of the occupants were treated on scene by AMR, it is unknown if any were transported. The Red Cross is assisting occupants of the building. The Bridgeport Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of this fire.
