On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, around 11:45pm, the Bridgeport ECC received multiple calls reporting a structure fire in the area of Valley Circle & Chopsey Hill Rd. This "Lewis-5" assignment consisted of Engine 12, Engine 10, Engine 15, Engine 16 as RIT, Ladder 5, Ladder 10, Rescue 5, Safety Officer 1, Battalion 1, and Battalion 2. While en route on Douglas St, Engine 12 reported they could see the fire from the bottom of the hill and were laying in from a hydrant. On arrival, Engine 12 reported heavy fire showing from the rear of a 1-story ranch-type private dwelling. Engine 12 quickly stretched lines and made a push on the exterior fire before moving inside. Battalion 1 soon arrived on scene and requested a 2nd alarm. Engine 1, Engine 6, and Ladder 6 responded on the 2nd alarm. 4 lines were stretched and operated. Companies were able to knock down the main body of fire in about half an hour. There were no injuries to report. The Red Cross is assisting the occupants. The Bridgeport Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of this fire.
