2nd Alarm - Jones Ave & Pequonnock St Bridgeport, CT - 3/14/2021
Around 12:25 in the afternoon, multiple calls were received by the Bridgeport ECC reporting a structure fire at 18 Jones Ave. This David-4 assignment consisted of Engine 4, Engine 1, Engine 3, Engine 16, Ladder 5, Ladder 11, Rescue 5, Safety Officer 1, Battalion 1, and Battalion 2. Engine 6, Engine 7, and Ladder 6 responded on the 2nd Alarm. Cars 1, 3 and FM-6 also responded. On arrival, Battalion 1 reported heavy fire showing from the A-side of a 2 1/2 story wood frame. Companies made an aggressive push interior battling heavy fire on floors 2 and 3 of the dwelling. As the fire was becoming knocked, smoke and fire started to show from the neighboring building at 306 Pequonnock St, a 2 story residential over commercial. Car 3 assumed command and struck a 2nd Alarm. Battalion 1 became Jones Ave Operations and Battalion 2 became Pequonnock St Operations. Companies made a push inside the 2nd floor apartments meeting heavy fire inside which soon dug itself into the cockloft. Companies then worked to open the roof and finally extinguish the fire. Companies had the fire under control in both buildings around 1:10pm. Companies remained on scene for over an hour in extensive overhaul. The Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire.
