2nd alarm - 646 Hallett St Bridgeport, CT - 12/8/2021
Around 9:10 pm on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021, the Bridgeport ECC received multiple calls of a structure fire in the 600 block of Hallett St. This John-2 box consisted of Engine 10, Engine 1, Engine 6, Engine 15 as RIT, Ladder 5, Ladder 6, Rescue 5, Safety Officer 1, Battalion 1, and Battalion 2. Additional information was soon received while en route reporting people possibly jumping from the building. Battalion 2 then gave the 2nd Alarm of Fire prior to arrival. The 2nd Alarm assignment consisted of Engine 3, Engine 4, and Ladder 10. Cars 1, 2, 3, FM-1, FM-2 also responded. Battalion 2 reported heavy fire showing from the rear of a 2 1/2 story private dwelling on arrival and requested 3 additional ambulances to the scene. Throughout the next hour, companies battled heavy fire throughout the 2nd and 3rd floors of the home. At least 3 people were injured in this fire. Red Cross is assisting the occupants. The Bridgeport Fire Marshal's Office is working with the State Fire Marshal's Office to determine the cause of this fire.
