Apartment Fire - 901 William St. Bridgeport, CT - 12/12/2020
Around 2:45 this afternoon, the Bridgeport ECC received a call for an activation of the fire alarm at the Roosevelt Condos on William St. Before companies could be dispatched multiple 911 calls were received by the ECC reporting a fire in an apartment along with possible entrapment. A John-5 assignment was dispatched consisting of Engine 1, Engine 10, Engine 12 and Engine 15 as RIT, Ladder 5, Ladder 10, Rescue 5, Safety 1 and both Battalions. On arrival, Engine 1 reported heavy black smoke coming from the 2nd floor of the C-side of the L-shaped 2 1/2 story condo. Engine 1 stretched an 1 3/4" line to the 2nd floor where they found a well-involved apartment. 2 additional lines were stretched on the fire. The bulk of the fire was knocked around a half-hour from the time of alarm. Companies continued to hit small pockets of fire and work on extensive overhaul throughout the next half hour. Companies were slowly released from the scene. Command was terminated around 5pm.
