On Monday, September 26, 2022, around 3:10 pm, the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department was alerted to a reported appliance fire in a home in the 1 block of River View Lane. Car 6 arrived first on the scene and reported a heavy smoke condition in the home. Engine 4 soon followed. The fire was quickly located and knocked down. The fire was confined to the oven, which was brought outside following the fire. However, the first floor of the home sustained moderate-to-heavy smoke damage. The home was ventilated and units returned to service, until being called upon again several minutes later for a motor vehicle accident with extrication on Sherman Hill Rd. There were no injuries at this incident. The Woodbury Fire Marshal's office is working to determine the cause of this fire.
