Around 1:30 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2022, the FDNY Brooklyn Communications Office received a report of a fire in a store in the 800 block of Rockaway Ave. Arriving companies found 2 electric scooters on fire inside of an electric bike store behind a fast-food restaurant, which were quickly extinguished. Hazmat was requested to the scene due to the Lithium-Ion batteries in the scooters. Once the batteries were contained, all companies returned to service.
