Brush fire - Parsell Lane/I-95 Westport, CT - 4/7/2021
Around 1:10 in the afternoon on April 7th, the Westport and Fairfield Fire Departments received calls for a brush fire off of I-95. Soon it was determined that there were 2 separate brush fires. Westport Engine 2 and FP-2 were able to handle a small brush fire by themselves. Meanwhile, Fairfield Engine 4 requested additional resources to their scene where they had a rapidly spreading 1-acre brush fire that was beginning to threaten residential structures. In total, Westport Engines 2, 4, 5, 6, with Cars 1, 2, 3, 4, FP-1, FP-2, and FP-3 responded. Fairfield responded with Engines 1, 2, 4, Ladder 2, Cars 2 and 3. Companies were able to get a handle on the fire as it grew close to the houses. Luckily there was no damage to nearby homes or outbuildings.
