On Saturday, February 5, 2022, around 5:35pm, the Fairfield ECC received multiple calls reporting a car with an engine compartment fire close to the pumps at the Citgo on Black Rock Turnpike. Fairfield Engine 2, Ladder 2, and Car 3 responded. Enroute, Car 3 requested an additional engine to be added to the assignment, bringing Engine 5 to the scene. PD arrived first and confirmed an engine compartment fire. Engine 2 arrived soon after, stretched their bumper line and quickly extinguished the fire. There were no injuries or damage to the gas pumps.
