Today around 3:40pm, Bridgeport fire recieved multiple calls about a structure fire in the area of 165 Lee Ave. Upon arrival, the address was corrected to 43 Wordin Ave, companies found a fully involved dump truck against a commercial building. There was mild extension to the roof of the commercial structure and heavy damage to the siding of a neighboring home. Companies had the fire under control in around a half-hour. This Charlie-3 assignment consisted of Engine 3, Engine 4, Engine 7, Engine 12 as R.I.T., Ladder 5, Ladder 11, Rescue 5, Safety Officer 1, and both Battalions. Car 2, Training 3, and a representative to the fire marshal's office also responded. Engine 27 and Military Cargo 1 were rare sights to see at this scene, bringing crews in from the evening shift change. The fire marshals office is investigating the cause of this fire.
