On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, around 2:50 pm, the Bridgeport ECC recieved a report of a car accident with injuries at Summit St and Gurdon St in the Brooklawn/St. Vincent's neighborhood of the city. Engine 12 was dispatched to the accident. While enroute, the assignment was quickly upgraded upon report of one of the vehicles catching fire. Ladder 5 and Battalion 2 were dispatched to the scene. Engine 12 arrived on scene and reported a 3 car accident with 1 vehicle on fire. Engine 12 quickly discovered the vehicle on fire was an electric vehicle and notified dispatch, as well as requesting an additional engine company to the scene. Engine 1 and Safety Officer 1 responded to the scene. The fire was luckily able to be extinguished in about an hour's time. 1 person was transported to the hospital. The Bridgeport Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
