House fire - 145 Connecticut Ave Stamford, CT - 7/21/2022
Around 4:20 pm on Thursday, July 21, 2022, the Stamford Fire Department was alerted to a residential automatic fire alarm with a report of smoke in the building. The initial response was Engine 3, Engine 2, Engine 5, Engine 1 as RIT, Truck 3, Rescue 1, and Unit 4. On arrival, Engine 3 reported light smoke showing from the roofline of a 2-1/2 story wood frame multiple dwelling and declared they were stretching a line. Truck 3 soon arrived and reported that they had found a small fire in a hallway on the 1st floor and declared a working fire. Unit 2 and Unit 3 responded to the scene. Unit 124 from the shops responded to the scene with the mobile air trailer to fill air bottles on the scene, as all spare air bottles in the city were out of service due to hydro testing. The fire was quickly knocked down, but minor extension was discovered in the walls on the 1st and 2nd floors which was quickly dealt with. The fire was placed under control after about 20 minutes. There were no injuries to report. It is unknown if the occupants were displaced as a result of this fire. The Stamford Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of this fire.
