Around 2:40 pm on July 4, 2021, the Bridgeport Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of Benham Ave, this "Charlie-6" assignment consisted of Engine 3, Engine 1, Engine 4, Engine 7 as RIT, Ladder 5, Ladder 11, Rescue 5, Safety Officer 1, Battalion 1, and Battalion 2. Car 3 and FM-8 also responded on this incident. On arrival Engine 3 reported smoke showing from the structure and that they were stretching lines. Companies quickly knocked down the fire in around 10 minutes. There were no injuries. Red Cross is assisting the occupants and the fire marshal's office is investigating the cause
