On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, around 8:50 am, the Fairfield County Regional Dispatch Center received a report of a fire in the 1 block of Oakwood Drive in Fairfield. Fairfield dispatched Engine 2, Engine 1, Engine 3, Ladder 2, Rescue 1, and Car 3 to the scene. Upon receiving a report of active fire in the home from the caller, Car 3 requested Engine 4 to be added as the 4th engine. Car 2 also responded. Companies arrived to initially nothing showing from a 1-1/2 story wood frame private dwelling. Upon entering the structure, a heavy smoke condition was found with a pile of trash on fire in a bedroom. Engine 3 stretched 2 lines, 1 was operated and the fire was quickly knocked down. Car 5 and FM-2 also responded to the scene. There were no injuries or need for relocation of occupants. The Fairfield Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of this fire.
