On Saturday, October 8, 2022, around 5:25 pm, the Port Chester and Bedford Hills Fire Departments were alerted to an odor of gas in a dwelling in the 1 block of Bush Avenue, a few blocks from Port Chester HQ. Port Chester Car 2393, Engine 60, Engine 61, and Rescue 40 responded, along with a mutual aid tower ladder from Bedford Hills, in town covering for TL2 during its wetdown ceremony. Fire Companies and ConEdison arrived on scene simultaneously and were able to quickly isolate the source of the odor to the stove. The gas was shut off and the scene was turned over to ConEd. Units operated on scene for about 10 minutes before returning to service.
