Around 10:40 am on Sunday, November 28, 2021, the Westport ECC received a call reporting a shed fire in the 1 block of Plover Lane in the Saugatuck Shore section of town. Engines 2, 4, 5, 6, Truck 1, Car 3, and Norwalk Engine 4 were dispatched to the scene. A column of smoke was visible from I-95 and as far north as the Post Rd bridge. On arrival, Engine 4 reported a well-involved shed that was extending to 2 dwellings. Engine 4 stretched their car fire line and quickly knocked down the shed fire. Engine 5 soon followed and supplied Engine 4 with water. The fire very slightly extended into the main house and extended to the exterior only of a vacant neighboring home. The fire was under control in about 10 minutes. Car 2, FP-1, and FP-3 also responded. There were no injuries or need for relocations. The fire marshal's office is investigating the cause of this fire.
