Around 9:15 this morning, companies in Bridgeport were dispatched to a report of a structure fire on North Ave. Ladder 5, en route to the shop, was only a few blocks away and arrived on scene in seconds, calling smoke from the C-side and soon upgrading to smoke and fire showing from the 2nd floor on the C-side on their 360. 3 lines were stretched to the second and 3rd floors of the 2 1/2 story multi-family house. Companies had the fire under control in around half an hour. The companies dispatched for this Adam-6 assignment were Engine 1, Engine 3, Engine 4, Engine 12 as RIT, Ladder 5, Ladder 10, Rescue 5, Safety 1 and both Battalions. The Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause. This was the second fire of the day following a kitchen fire on Fairfield Ave around 2 in the morning.
