Structure Fire - 360 Mine Hill Rd, Fairfield, CT - 11/17/20
Today around 12:50, a call came into the Fairfield ECC for a fire in the groundskeeper's cottage of the Little River Farm. On arrival, Engine 5 & Car 3 reported smoke and fire coming from the roof and declared a callback fire, bringing mutual aid into town and for career and volunteer firefighters to man rigs in town. Companies made an aggressive interior attack against fire in the attic and had the fire under control in about 40 minutes. Engines 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, with Ladder 2, Rescue 1, Cars 1, 3, 5, FM-1 and FM-3 responded to the scene. Bridgeport and Westport provided coverage with volunteer companies. The Fairfield Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire. Another fire occurred at this same farm almost 2 years ago involving a chicken coop which killed around 600 chickens.
