Around 2:45 in the afternoon yesterday. The Bridgeport Fire Department received a call for a car on fire inside Jax Auto Recycling on River st near the ECC. This John-5 assignment consisted of Engine 1, Engine 10, Engine 12, Engine 15 RIT, Ladder 5, Ladder 10, Rescue 5, Safety 1 and both Battalions. Ladder 10, down the street on training, quickly arrived and reported heavy smoke and fire showing from a single-story auto garage. 2 lines were quickly stretched and the fire was quickly contained. There was no extension to the structure and the Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause.
