Shortly before 5:30 p.m., firefighters arrived to find heavy flames throughout a building at 409 E.Seventh Street.
The building was unoccupied and under construction on the left side and the other side displaced 7 people. Other residents and animals from the exposure buildings.
Flames burst through the roof of the 2 1/2 story duplex and spread to 411 E. Seventh St.
The fire quickly went to 4 alarms. A few injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
