At 9:17 on 9/24/2020 Lower Providence Fire Station 53 along with Collegeville Station 34 and Medic 322 were dispatched to Franco's Pizza in the Collegeville section of the township for a reported structure fire.

Initial notes indicated that there was smoke inside the structure and that there is a roofing contractor doing work on the roof of the shopping center.

BC53 arrived quickly and observed smoke coming from the roof of the structure and called for the "Working Fire Procedure."

Quint 53 arrived and laddered the building, while Squad 53 established a water supply from a nearby hydrant and stretched an 1 3/4" hose line.

The fire was extinguished and the area overhauled. Crews worked to ventilate all of the businesses of smoke before clearing after approximately 1 hour.

Assistance was received from the Perkiomen Township Fire Company , Trappe Fire Company No. 1, Township of Upper Providence Department of Fire & Emergency Services, Black Rock Vol Fire Co., Skippack Fire Company, Lower Providence EMS - Medic 322, and Lower Providence Township Police .

Fire is under investigation by the Lower Providence Township Fire Marshal's Office.
