Apparatus Shoot - Station 11, Dallas, TX - 4/21/19
As the city of Dallas finished taking delivery of their initial order of Pierce apparatus, I have continued to make my rounds to reach more of the stations receiving new rigs. On this Saturday in particular I was able to visit the crews of the historic Station 11 in Oak Lawn. Station 11 dates back to when the City of Dallas Fire Department was still using horse-drawn steam pumpers and hook and ladders. The station now features some of the newest apparatus in the city residing alongside the one original brass pole that was not used during the WWII manufacturing effort and "carriage kickers" original to the station's construction which finished in 1909.
