While driving in the area of PGBT and Midway Rd. I witnessed a darkening column of smoke beginning to rise ahead of me off of Midway. Arriving in the area I found heavy fire coming from a 1st level garage unit of a 3 story apartment building. Dallas' T10 had arrived just ahead of me and confirmed the building was evacuated while waiting for an engine company to arrive. Although this call was in E10's first due, the company was still picking up from a previous job in another district which left E13 as first-in for this box. E13 arrived on scene and made a quick attack on the garage unit. Fire damage appeared to be limited to two garages, however some smoke damage occured along the height of the entire building and crews conducted overhaul on all 3 floors to ensure the facade had not carried the fire up to the units above. Given the location of these apartments in far North Dallas, Plano E5 and BC2 also made the ticket as auto-aid companies.
