Box Alarm - Our Lady of the Lake University - Unknown Date
Companies of the 1st Battalion worked a suspicious fire early this afternoon at a 4 story dorm room at Our Lady of the Lake University. Engine Co 8 was initially dispatched to an AFA and a water flow alarm at the university. Upon making entry to division 3 of the still under construction dormitory, crews found light smoke in the hall and found the reported fire apartment fully charged with smoke and high heat. Engine 8 upgraded the box and pulled their apartment lay. Engine Co 15 dumped their entire bed of LDH to secure a water supply, and Truck 8 assisted with ventilation. The sprinkler system was able to keep the fire in check and engine crews were able to knock down the remaining fire fairly quickly. Crews were on scene for well over 2 hours however, conducting salvage and overhaul operations with the amount of water put out by the sprinkler system. Arson was requested as the fire was highly suspicious in nature. Companies on the ticket were EN08, EN11, EN15, EN33, TK08, PL11, HR11, SQ33, MAC39, M10, MOF4, FSO and BC01
