Here are some recent photos from a training evolution held in the new Scott Deem Memorial Training Facility located at Burnett & Cherry St. The San Antonio Fire Department has taken what both State and Federal investigators have attributed to FF Scott Deem's death in May of 2018 as leading factors, and developed this new command and mayday evolution to help push a cultural shift within the department. The evolution will help both the firemen and command staff better prepare for mayday situations should they arise. Companies are dispatched to an assisted living home with people trapped, and crews must rescue both of the trapped victims, located the seat of the fire, and rescue the down firefighter that arrises at a particular benchmark during the training.
