Structure Fires - Multiple Locations, San Antonio, TX - Month of November 2018
Engine Company No. 13 laid out on a well involved “all hands” dwelling fire in the 400blk of Wharton St on the cities South side. Engine 13 declared a working fire with “...Very heavy fire showing on the alpha/delta side...” and advised incoming companies that they would be in the offensive mode. Engine Company No 7 laid a supply line and pulled a backup attack line while Engine 21 was the RIT with Ladder 29 conducting a primary search while Engines 7 and 13 attacked the fire. Fire attack was partially hampered initially due to three foot high clutter throughout the house, but crews prevailed on and were able to get a solid knockdown on the fire allowing Battalion Chief 6-0 to declare an out tap on the box at the 20 minute time stamp. Companies on the ticket were EN07 EN13 EN21 TK29 MAC27 MOF4 M13 BC06
Bexar-Bulverde Fire/Rescue along with Shavano Park, Hollywood Park, Bulverde-Spring-Branch and Castle Hils worked a well involved house fire in the 26000 S Glenrose Rd. Engine Company No. 103 arrived on scene with heavy fire showing through the very large, two story home and advised all responding units that they would pulling a blitz line and in a defensive posture. BC101, while still in route, requested additional mutual-aid companies. Crews worked for close to 2 hours before command was able to place an out-tap on the box. Companies on the ticket were EN73, EN103, EN104, HR104, TK109, BT103, SQ129, SQ139, BC101, C102, C103, and C104

Medical Officer’s 1 & 2 were finishing up dinner when they noticed fire and smoke coming from a few blocks away. Upon making the block, 9-1-1 calls started to flood Fire Communication’s office of a fire. Crews had a single story wood framed dwelling that was heavily involved on the Charlie side. Engine Co 3 pulled a reconnect off the rear and initiated an offensive attack. Engine Co No 1 arrived as the second due engine and pulled a second attack line while Truck Co 9 conducted a search. Engine Co. No 7 reverse laid to a hydrant to establish a water supply and Battalion Chief 6-0 held command. Engine Co. No 44 laid out on a working fire in a two story dwelling at Bridle Rdg & Rustic Gate on the cities far west side. Engine 44 advised responding units that they could see smoke from the onramp to Hwy 90 from their fire house, and arrived to find heavy smoke showing from the garage of a two story dwelling declaring a working fire. Engine 44 dropped a minuteman preconnect while Engine Co 36 staged on a hydrant. Platform Ladder 35 and Engine Co. 35 assisted Engine 44’s crew with fire attack and completing the primary search, which came back negative. Thanks to an aggressive attack crews were able to get a solid knockdown. Battalion Chief 3-0 assumed command upon his arrival, and quickly downgraded the working fire assignment to a still alarm and declared an out-tap on the box.
