Structure Fires & Small jobs - San Antonio, TX - November 2017 - Connecticut Fire Photographers Association

Fire companies worked a small fire in the 100 blk of Melrose Place in the Uptown section of the city this afternoon. Engine Co. No. 6 was dispatched to a reported “Extinguished Fire” and upon making it to the apartment in question found heavy smoke and heavy charing in the attic. Engine 6’s officer quickly upgraded the incident to a “Regular” or more commonly know as a “Box Alarm,” and pulled a redline to the second floor. Crews laddered the roof, pulled an additional redline off of Engine 4, and pulled ceiling checking for extension and followed the “Crocodile-ing” of the wood in the attic space above. Eventually vents were put in the roof and PPV’s placed at the door to allow smoke to exit. The fire was caused by a plumber soldering in the bathroom. Companies on the ticket were EN01, EN04, EN05, EN06, TK17, PL01, and BC08.
